Royal Enfield Classic 350 vs Classic 500

Design

The Royal Enfield Classic epitomizes the classic feel with modern engineering. The well-rounded tank to the broad mud guards is an immediate attention seeker.

The side box shaped like a 'V' has been synonymous with the bullet from the it started production back 100 years ago. This continues to be a big draw even in the current era.

The headlamp is round and asserts the classic look along with the rounded tail lamp. Also, the monkey cap on the headlamp brings back the past into the future with so much of ease.

The thigh pad along the tank is practical and yet it gives you the charm of the golden era. The new motorcycle, however, has its own unique features like the single seat and new wheels.

The Classic 350 and the 500 are the same in design, but, they differ themselves with the color options.

The 350 comes in Mint, Ash, Chestnut, Lagoon, Silver and Black. The 500 comes in some exciting color options like Classic Silver, Classic Black, Classic Tan, Squadron Blue, Desert Storm, Battle Green, and chrome version of Classic Black, Chrome Graphite and Chrome Green.

Engine Specifications & Gearbox

This where both the bikes differentiate themselves. The Classic 350 is powered by 346cc, single cylinder, 4-stroke twinspark engine, which produces 19.8bhp at 5,250rpm and maximum torque of 28Nm at 4,000rpm mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

The fuel is supplied by a constant vacuum carburetor and the ignition is through the coil.

The Classic 500 is powered by 499cc, single cylinder, 4-stroke twinspark engine, which punches out 27.2bhp at 5,250rpm and torque of 41.3Nm at 4,000rpm, this mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

The fuel supply is through electronic fuel injection and the ignition is digital electronic.

Features

Royal Enfield has not done much the features when it comes to both these Classic's, they are, however, given color options and the variant in the engine performance.

Safety

Both the motorcycles features 280mm disc brakes in the front and rear wheel comes with 153mm drum brakes.

Verdict

The Classic 500 takes the cake, based on the engine specifications and is more powerful than the Classic 350. The Classic 350, on the other hand, is a versatile motorcycle and is lower priced with better mileage.
